Middle Border Forward (MBF) is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill vacancies on its board of directors. This is an opportunity for civic-minded citizens to help shape the future of the Middle Border region (City of Danville, Pittsylvania County, and Caswell County).
When asked why he chooses to serve on the MBF board, Brandon Atkins says, “It’s easier to criticize than create. I like being a part of an organization that inspires action. Our board encourages open discussion and exploration. We often hear from newcomers that it’s unlike any other board they’ve been a part of.”
Middle Border Forward is an equal opportunity organization which holds diversity and inclusion as core values. As such, all applications are welcome and will be considered regardless of education level, age, sex, gender, race, religion, and previous board service experience. However, applicants must live and/or work within the Middle Border region.
“The ideal candidate for MBF’s board is someone who ‘gets’ our mission,” says Jennifer Gregory, executive director, “Someone with a passion for this region and a commitment to making it a place we’re ALL proud to call home.”
Applications are available here. To be considered for appointment to the board in June 2019, applications must be submitted by March 18.
Questions regarding board service or the application process should be directed to Jennifer Gregory at (434) 483-2894.
