On July 24, MBF board members gathered at the Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro to review the organization's mission, vision and strategic goals for the future. The retreat was led by facilitator Morris White, III, Durham County (NC) Cooperative Extension Director - who focused on strategic planning, succession planning, and impact evaluation.
A week later, the MBF staff hosted their own retreat to build staff comradery and gain a better understanding of how we function as an organization through MBTI assessments. “The retreat was an opportunity to think about how to improve on what we do. We want to reach more people in the Middle Border region, so we looked at ways to do that by capitalizing on our strengths,” says MBF AmeriCorps VISTA, Moustafa “Moose” Nassar.
