Allison Robertson

Allie is a Danville, VA native who attended George Washington High School and the University of Virginia. Allie returned home after graduating to be closer to family. She enjoys playing soccer and ultimate frisbee, eating good food, and spending time with loved ones (including her pets). She is passionate about many suits, including the environment, social/racial justice, and creating lasting, positive change in the 434 region.

 


 

Angel Thurston McCann

Anthony Hearn Anthony is a small-business owner and resident of Milton North Carolina. He serves on the boards of the Caswell Family Medical Center, Milton Preservation and Beautification Society, and Milton Preservation and Zoning Board
Byron Gunn Byron Gunn is a Danville native who loves working with our youth to become business leaders savvy in our city. Byron is an entrepreneur of a branding company, Dk Royalties, where he works with models, photographers, videographers and other entrepreneurs as well. "It’s a great pleasure to serve our Region."

 


 

Charles McWilliams

Cindy Martin Cindy is a Unit Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Danville Area. She enjoys working with youth and volunteering in her community. During her spare time she enjoy traveling and making memorable moments with her family and friends.

 


 

Coretta White

Coretta was born and raised in this area. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. "I look forward to engaging in community activities to make this City a better place to live and enjoy for generations to come!"

 


 

Erica Englehart

Erica is a Danville By Choice citizen from Richmond Virginia! She came to attend Averett University 6 years ago, and graduated with a BS in Business Management as well as a BA in Theatre. She is pursuing a career in the craft beer industry, hoping to bring the community more education and variety in our beer selections as the town grows. For fun, she loves to visit local breweries, participate in Averett theatre productions, and take way too many pictures of her dog and cat. Currently, Erica is getting her Masters in Business Leadership at Averett University.

 


 

Hope Abernathy

Hope is a Danville native who enjoys giving back to the community that gave to her. Hope's passion is watching her students reach their potential. As she tells her students, "Teaching is the essence of her soul."

 


 

Jasmine Lipscomb

A Danville, Virginia native, Jasmine is a dynamic, motivated and accomplished US Military Paralegal professional with 12 years of progressive industry knowledge and expertise in administering the Military Judicial System within the United States Marine Corps. She is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in procedural Paralegal functions, including legal research, complex document analysis, preparation, and review with expertise in developing streamlined processes for improving systems and workplace efficiency. Her passions include poetry, cosmetology, church-life, and physical training. "I look forward to helping Middle Border Forward bridge any gaps amongst the Community with the Military Veterans."

 


 

Keisha Averett

Keisha Averett is a Registered Behavior Technician at The Madeline Centre, where she delivers quality Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Keisha has previously worked with Sylvan Learning Center and Blair’s Day School. Keisha is also a strategic Event Manager and Community Organizer who enjoys connecting with new people.

 


 

Kenyatta N. Thomas

Kenyatta N. Thomas is a native of Darlington, SC where she attended and graduated from Mayo High School for Math, Science, and Technology. Kenyatta obtained her BA of English from Virginia State University, and is employed as an English teacher for Danville Public Schools. Kenyatta is a mother of one and enjoys spending her free time with close friends and family.

Missy Harden

Missy is an assistant youth coordinator for Danville Regional Housing Authority and after-school tutor for the Danville Church-Based Tutorial program. As a member of a few non-profit organizations, Missy is able to do a lot of volunteering within the city, community and other surrounding areas. She is a single mother of 3, grandmother of 5, and a member of Dan River Church.

 


 

Penny Hudson

As a Student Success Coach for the Graduate and Professional Studies program at Averett University, located in Danville's River District on Bridge Street, Penny assists students throughout their journey at Averett. Penny enjoys that her work allows her to to gain invaluable experience while honing her skills through problem-solving, teamwork, and giving students options for courses.

 


 

Sarah Neighbors

Sarah Neighbors is a yoga instructor and studio manager for Firefly Yoga as well as the owner of Sarah Neighbors Healing, an energetic healing service using reiki, tarot, and yoga. Her passions lie in empowering others to better themselves and take charge of their health and happiness! When not teaching a class or hosting clients, this Danville native enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time in the River District and Old West End, taking advantage of the many new and wonderful activities this city has to offer.

 


 

Shani Gaylord

A native of New Jersey, Shani serves as the Program Manager for the Danville Youth Health Equity Leadership Institute (Danville YHELI) through the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Health Equity, as a puzzle piece in the building of our vibrant, healthier, and more resilient community. Shani’s passion for health and education stem from barriers growing up as an at-risk youth, to become a college drop-out, to becoming a Cum Laude graduate of Patrick Henry Community College with an AAS in Information Technology, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS in Business Administration, Fayetteville State University with an MBA in Healthcare Administration. Shani is currently attending Liberty University, pursuing her PhD in Education Administration, while helping others overcome their barriers to become successful as well. Her mottos are, “Teamwork makes the dream work!” and,” It takes a village,”.

 


 

Sharon Towler

Sharon is the Director of Abundant Life Childcare Center and has worked in the Early Childhood field for 17+ years. She enjoys helping families and watching children learn and grow, and has herself raised 4 beautiful, intelligent daughters.
Sierra Petty Sierra's passion is in her ability to effect positive change in people's lives. She supports Collidescope, the local LGBTQ+ emerging community, and uses her strengths to help people at the Goodwill Career Center.
