MIDDLE BORDER FORWARD ACCEPTS APPLICATIONS FOR 2017-18 FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Danville, Virginia – Middle Border Forward, a local nonprofit community development organization dedicated to cultivating inclusive and diverse leadership in the Dan River region, is accepting applications for the 2017-18 MBF Fellowship Program.

Building upon the success of its current class, the program seeks to recruit civic-minded individuals and equip them to become agents of positive change in the community through a year-long fellowship experience.

The fellowship program is intended for emerging leaders living and/or working in Danville, Pittsylvania County or Caswell County.

“The MBF Fellowship is designed specifically with non-traditional, grassroots leaders in mind,” says Jennifer Gregory, Middle Border Forward’s executive director, “By exposing the Fellows to the challenges and opportunities in our region, facilitating candid and in-depth conversations and providing a platform to generate positive synergy, we will empower them to make a real impact in the community – both now and for years to come.”

Fellows will meet monthly for daylong sessions on a variety of topics, including:  Arts & Culture, Education, Business and Agriculture.  The fellowship will culminate with a community change initiative designed and implemented by the Fellows.
