Middle Border Forward (MBF) was established in December 2015 as the capstone project of an 18-month fellowship of emerging grassroots leaders in the region sponsored by Danville Regional Foundation. Today, as an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, MBF is on a mission to “cultivate inclusive leadership, inspire community engagement and create equitable access to opportunities” in the City of Danville, Pittsylvania County and Caswell County.
MBF’s work is focused on six identified pillars of community development: arts & culture, business, education, environment, health & wellness and infrastructure. Chief among MBF’s values are a commitment to inclusivity and the belief that every person has the potential to make a positive impact in their community.
The Middle Border region will value and reflect inclusive leadership and civic engagement by 2035.
